About you and the role
The UK is on a journey to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Decarbonising the energy sector is vital to enable the country to make this transformational change. Here in Gas Transmission, we are at the very heart of enabling this transition and to deliver on this ambition, we need to build a Net Zero Energy Workforce. We’re looking for 8 passionate Degree Apprentices with a wide range of skills and backgrounds to join us in tackling the climate challenge by changing the industry from within.
You will join a 4 ½ year development programme where you’ll study towards a BEng in an engineering discipline, undertake technical training, on-job training with three 3-month placements across our organisation before starting your full-time role. The programme is designed to develop your technical, commercial and business knowledge as well as your personal and professional skills. You’ll have real and challenging objectives, and we’ll work with you to tailor placements to stretch you and provide real value to National Grid and the wider society.
What you’ll need
You’ll need enthusiasm, self drive, the ability to think independently and a curious questioning mind. You’ll also need the following qualifications:
- GCSE in Maths and English Language at a C/4 or above
- 3 A-Levels at CCC or above including a Maths and STEM subject or equivalent BTEC’s (i.e. Extended BTEC level 3 in Engineering DDD)
- A valid full UK driving licence
- You must be living within a 45 minute/30-mile commute to Warwick to be considered for this role.
