A Level success for UTC learners

23rd August 2018

This month we’re celebrating exam success for Gloucestershire’s School for STEM

As we welcome new and returning students to the UTC at the start of the Autumn term, after our first year as Gloucestershire’s new School for STEM, SGS Berkeley Green UTC are exceptionally proud to announce our first set of exam results for our Sixth Form students. Although only one year through their two year courses it is clear that our Engineering and Cyber students are already both on track for glowing success.

Students studying the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering have achieved an impressive 100% pass rate in their Engineering Principles exam, commonly regarded as the most challenging part of the course. With 75% of students gaining a merit or distinction this result looks even better when compared to national averages, setting our students on the right path to land the higher level apprenticeships and university degrees that they aspire to.

Results for our budding Cyber and Digital experts were even more impressive. Again, all student passed the examined unit of their level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma. More than 90% achieved  a merit or distinction with more than half the cohort achieving top marks.

Students and staff alike should be congratulated on their dedication and commitment which bodes well for the future success of our new institution.

We are very much looking forward to seeing our new and returning students continue the success of our first year!
