UTC student with confirmed Covid diagnosis
One student from SGS Berkeley Green UTC has been confirmed as having Covid 19. They were tested on Sunday and have not returned to the UTC since receiving the diagnosis.
We appreciate this will cause some concern but want to reassure learners, parents and staff that we have stringent safety processes in place to minimise the spread of COVID, in line with government recommendations for educational settings. We are working very closely with Public Health England, adhering to their advice following the learner’s test result.
Public Health England has instructed that we send home students who have had close contact with the student to self-isolate for a fortnight. As a result, year 12 students are now self-isolating. For students in years 10, 11 and 13, lessons are able to continue safely on site.
We will closely monitor the situation, and notify learners, parents and staff should this advice change. We will continually work closely with Public Health England, the Department for Education and NHS test and trace should any new cases come to light.
Please see the bottom of this page for a copy of all parent letters.

One student from SGS Berkeley Green UTC has been confirmed as having Covid 19. They were tested on Saturday and have not returned to the UTC since receiving the diagnosis.

Public Health England has instructed that we send home students from the relevant bubble to self-isolate for a fortnight. At the UTC, students in years 10 and 11 form one bubble and have been sent home. The bubble operates within a pre-defined zone so lessons for the all of the post-16 students are able to continue safely on site.
