Berkeley Green students take part in national design competition

This term students have been taking part in a national design competition run by MOBIE. They have been tasked with designing the ‘Home of 2030’ considering the SMART products that will be used, the architectural design and the sustainability of power and building resources.

As part of this project students have been able to visit a WELINK house on the UTC site to find out how building technology is being developed. They have also had the opportunity to discuss the future of building with Mark Southgate, CEO of MOBIE. Mark spent the day with us today looking at the design of our students and discussing their choices of building technology, material choice and sustainability ideas.

Good luck to the students taking part in the competition, hopefully we will have a few finalists coming out of Berkeley Green.
