Mock Interview Day 2023

14th March 2023

On Tuesday 14th March, students from years 10 and 12 had the opportunity to practice their interview skills with several of our supporting employers.

Pupils were asked a series of common interview questions, designed to test their ability to respond to open questioning, and to prepare them for their future apprenticeship, university and career interviews.

We are proud to congratulate every young person who got involved with mock interviews for the outstanding impressions they made on each of our employers.

“The organisation and planning was on point but the student interaction really stood out. I don’t think I had ever seen a group of students so passionate about their school, and with clear goals about what they want to do next.” – Henrique Mitt, GE Aerospace

Students were provided with 5 minutes of verbal feedback after their interview, as well as a written record of the advice which they will be able to keep both at home and as part of their employability record.

A total of 41 supporting employers and members of the UTC community attended this event, and we deeply appreciate each and every volunteer for lending us their time.

‘NTC would like to thank Berkeley Green UTC for the opportunity to conduct mock interviews with its students. This kind of training is invaluable and provides their cyber and tech students a real insight into the working life. The close bond forged between Berkeley Green and NTC enables students to develop the soft skills necessary to compliment the classroom work they have completed. This kind of relationship provides a higher caliber of candidate whilst also allowing NTC to meet the next generation of cyber/tech professionals. Our staff thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we hope the interviewees took something away too. We look forward to any future activities and would encourage other industry leaders to reach out too’ – Charlotte Lipscombe, North Tower Consulting.
