In a year full of highlights, staff and students at SGS Berkeley Green UTC are celebrating our first ever set of post-16 exam results.
Our specialisms showed remarkable successes: every single student in our Digital Technologies and Engineering departments gained at least a pass in all qualifications – and they also achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate in all external exams!
Students performing exceptionally well include Thomas Durn and Joe Williams who both achieved three starred Distinctions in their Digital Technologies course, with Joe now going onto a fantastic apprenticeship opportunity. Jamie Chalmers and Jacob Price both gained three Distinctions, with two of them starred, in their Engineering course, and Holly Tolhurst scooped three Distinctions setting her up for her apprenticeship with Kier.
Overall, 56% of our students achieved 3 grades between A* and C in A’ Levels, with 26% getting a clean sweep of 3 grades between A* and B.
Interim Principal Gareth Lister said, “We are delighted to see the hard work and dedication of our students over the past two years has paid off. Staff, students and parents have worked tirelessly to help our students achieve access to the next stage of their education whether that be University, apprenticeships or employment. SGS Berkeley Green is moving from strength to strength and we are really looking forward to next year, with student numbers increasing and a new Headteacher joining us in September.”
Further destinations already lined up for SGS Berkeley students include Renishaw, Unilever, GE Aviation, BT Openreach, The Army, Kier, and The Royal Navy amongst many others.
