College smashes charity target
Students, parents and staff at SGS Berkeley Green UTC were challenged by their Student Council to collect 500 items for local Food Banks in just a fortnight. To their delight, the target was smashed in just 10 days, and to date over 600 items have already been counted. All items will be delivered to local Food Banks on the last day of term.
Ed McMullan, Chair of the Student Council, said that he has been ‘surprised by the generosity of the students at Berkeley Green UTC. Students have been coming in with bags of donations including everything from tooth brushes to tins of beans. It’s brilliant to belong to a college that comes together in this way when Food banks are in such high demand. Hopefully this collection will help to make someone’s Christmas a bit more special’.
SGS Berkeley Green UTC will be holding their next open day on Saturday 25 January, 10am – 1pm. Please visit the website for details.
