PSHE, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Consultation 2021

Since September 2020, it has been a statutory requirement that all schools in England and Wales are teaching Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) as a fundamental part of the curriculum.  At the UTC, our RSE curriculum is fully embedded in our wider Values in Practice programme which supports our mission statement of enabling students to flourish in their professional and private lives.

As part of implementing the RSE curriculum, schools must consult with students, parents, staff and governors to ensure there is a general consensus on our approaches to policy and the curriculum content.  Our aim is to consult whenever we update our RSE curriculum.

At the UTC, we would like to invite you to participate in our consultation on our new RSE Policy and curriculum which will be delivered from September 2021.

We would like to invite parents and carers to read through the following two documents and make comments on them.  The two documents that you are asked to read as part of the consultation are:

The UTC draft RSE Policy

The draft RSE Curriculum Plan

You are then asked to complete the following questionnaire:

This consultation opens on Thursday 24 June 2021 and closes on Monday 5 July 2021.

If you wish to carry out further reading around RSE, the following documents may be of use to you:
