Full Time Equivalent Salary Range:  SGSAT J39 – J42 £38,040 – £41,085

Actual Salary Range*: £26,216.76 – £28,315.34

*Based on Contract Type & Hours (Salary is dependent on level of qualification and experience)

Contract Type: Permanent and all year round

Hours: 25.50 per week

South Gloucestershire & Stroud Academy Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Governance Manager & Company Secretary to the Trust.

We are able to support flexible working from home for this role, with attendance on site for meetings as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To act as Governance Manager and Company Secretary to the South Gloucestershire and Stroud Academy Trust (SGSAT)
  • To act as Company Secretary to the SGSAT.
  • The successful candidate will secure the continuity of Board business, observing all confidentiality requirements.
  • Provide mentoring, oversight and liaison with other Governance Officers of constituent Local School Boards (LSB’s) of schools within the Trust.
  • Ensure effective Governance and organisation of Trust business.
  • To advise the Trust and committees on the proper exercise of their powers and on the application of the relevant Education Acts and other laws affecting its work.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience of governance procedures, roles and responsibilities in an education setting.
  • Ability to read and assimilate complex documents, clearly articulating complex issues in writing and orally.
  • Experience of handling sensitive information securely and in a confidential manner/awareness of Data Protection

Expected Interview Date will be in January 2023

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Disclosure Certificate, Enhanced with Children’s Barred list check, as a requirement of the job.
