The Trustees of SGS Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a Headteacher to lead SGS Pegasus School, a Special Free School in Patchway, South Gloucestershire for children and young people with autism aged 4-19.

Pupils are placed at the heart of all that we do at SGS Pegasus School and families are key partners in supporting learning. The ability to form outstanding partnership with parents/carers and families will be an essential skill of the successful candidate.

Pupils are valued for the experiences and enthusiasm that they bring to our school, and those they build on when they are here; we understand the need for flexibility to ensure the best for our pupils, considering the right pathways and progression for each learner personally as they develop.

We will look to you to lead our committed team of teachers and support staff in taking the school to the next level as we build on a secure and firm foundation. Our ambition and commitment is to deliver an outstanding level of education and care for students in South Gloucestershire and beyond.

If you can articulate clear values and moral purpose for the leadership of the school, and think you can meet the following criteria, we would like to hear from you:

  • communicating compellingly the school’s vision
  • providing a first-class education for our students
  • empowering all students and staff to excel
  • modelling positive relationships and attitudes towards our students
  • engaging parents, governors, Local Authorities and the community, and
  • ensuring that the education and interests of our students are at the centre of everything we do
  • A proven track record of outstanding leadership and a strong commitment to the special educational environment

If you would like an informal conversation about this post, please contact the DCEO of the Trust, Stephen Miles, at stephen.miles@sgscol.ac.uk who will be very pleased to speak with you.
