Full Time Equivalent Salary Range: £24,375.00 – £40,494.00 per annum

Plus a TLR of £2,799.00

(Salary is dependent on level of qualification and experience)

Contract Type: Permanent and Full-time

Hours: 37 hours per week

SGS Berkeley Green UTC opened in September 2017 with outstanding facilities, in a state-of-the-art building.  We provide specialist, high quality technical and academic education for 14-19 students with a strong interest in Engineering and Digital Technologies including Cyber Security. We are committed to developing our students into the STEM experts of tomorrow by working closely with our employer partners to deliver our exciting and industry relevant curriculum.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious Lead Teacher of Science.  As a relatively new school, this is a time of exciting growth and change. The Lead Teacher role will enable you to help shape our future direction and will provide excellent career development.  You will oversee a small but dedicated team and contribute to all aspects of school life.  Our facilities are truly fantastic and our students really want to be here.  STEM is at the heart of all we do.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach all Sciences at GCSE and may contribute to A Level or Level 3 BTEC teaching.   The profile of the successful candidate will in part determine the courses they teach, and the structure of their timetable.

We require a colleague who has:

  • A passion for all sciences and the ability to link learning to the real world;
  • A proven level of excellence in the classroom at KS4 and KS5;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • A willingness to contribute to all aspects of UTC life.

SGS Berkeley Green UTC opened in September 2017.  As the first University Technical College (UTC) in Gloucestershire, Berkeley Green aspires to combine outstanding academic and technical education.
