Berkeley Green UTC is seeking to appoint a confident, trustworthy and flexible Pastoral Support Practitioner to join our friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated team.

Salary: SGSAT Pay Scale up to £22,443 pro-rated

Contract Term: Permanent: Full-time, term-time only (40 weeks).

Berkeley Green UTC is seeking to appoint a confident, trustworthy and flexible Pastoral Support Practitioner to join our friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To work with the senior leadership team, Values in Practice (VIP) team and other colleagues to implement SGS Berkeley Green UTC’s vision, curriculum, policies and practices.
  • To support the academic, social, moral and cultural development of students as well as their health and well-being.
  • To act as a first port of call for all student concerns, including first aid.
  • To provide 1-2-1 guidance and support to students.
  • To support the SENDCO to coordinate the effective pastoral care for learners with special educational needs and disabilities.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Grade C or above in GCSE English and mathematics
  • Knowledge of behaviour and safeguarding systems
  • Ability to plan own workload and be aware of other colleagues’ priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a range of UTC stakeholders
