Salary Range: £31,779 – £36,963 per annum
(Salary is dependent on level of qualification and experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time and Fixed-Term until 31 August 2022
Hours: 37 hours per week

Young adults with poor literacy and reading skills are more likely to be unemployed or in low paid jobs. They are more likely to suffer from depression, obesity and shortened life expectancy. At FHS we take a joined up student centred approach to ensuring that our students have every chance to become confident, ethical & compelling adults who want improve the lives of all in their communities.

We are looking for a driven & dedicated high skill reading intervention lead to work with our young people, to ensure that all students have age appropriate reading ages before they begin their GCSE studies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
❖ To raise the reading age of all students in the school, particularly those with reading ages of 1 or more years below their chronological age
❖ Develop and implement the Reciprocal Reading scheme across the School
❖ Develop and implement specialist 1:1 intervention for students whose reading age is below 8.5 years
