We are looking to appoint a Science tech who can assist, advise and teach staff and pupils, running trials of experiments, demonstrations and helping students with learning activities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching some Science across the Key Stages ordering equipment for practical
SGS Pegasus school is a small, specialist school we currently have 93 students aged between 4-16, although we can have students up to the age of 19. For the right candidate, this will provide a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a school, to get to know every student and every member of staff, and to make a real difference to outcomes for young people.
You will work closely with our Science team, supporting curriculum delivery by carrying out a range of duties. These duties will focus on assisting teachers in preparing for lessons by setting up equipment, trailing practical activities and demonstrations, and maintaining stocks of resources including chemicals. You will provide technical assistance to support the development of all practical aspects of curriculum delivery across both key stages. You will take a proactive role in ensuring that the safeguarding needs of Pegasus are met, working closely with colleagues to create a safe and healthy environment. You will therefore be somebody who is able to build positive relationships with young people while maintaining firm boundaries.
You will need to have excellent practical skills, as outlined in the job description, as a Science tech your role will involve assisting with general support and supporting whole classes of SEN pupils. You will be expected to promote and secure high standards of teaching and learning, whilst supporting pupil achievement and progression. This position will suit somebody with a cheerful outlook and excellent organisational skills.

Salary: £25,773 (PRO -RARTERED £22,365)
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only (39 weeks),
Hours: 37 hours per week (this can be flexible for the right candidate)
