Why become a Trustee?
SGS Academy Trust, sponsored by SGS College is a distinctive Multi Academy Trust provider of secondary and specialist education in greater Gloucestershire. Comprising of SGS Berkeley Green UTC, SGS Pegasus Special School for students on the Autistic Spectrum, Forest High School and SGS Parkfield- a new free school opening in 2023. We recognise the importance of placing our students at the centre of everything we do and for preparing them for progression into mainstream secondary or tertiary education, apprenticeships or higher education, and employment.
Trustees, working with the Trust Executive, have a key role to play in leading the Trust to achieve its Vision and Strategic Aims, excellence in our teaching and all learning experiences and positively promote and nurture the academic, moral, social, physical and creative growth of the children in our care.
To support us achieve our exciting growth agenda and strategic objectives, we would like to attract new Trustees to join our Trust.
The role of a Trustee is interesting, varied and rewarding. You will have an important part to play in setting the strategic direction of the Trust, ensuring accountability for the use of public funds and monitoring and evaluating the Trust’s performance.
The Trust welcomes all applications and is keen to involve people of all ages and cultural backgrounds and strongly encourages applications from under-represented groups and from all sections of the communities served.
Our existing Trustees operate on a voluntary basis they are dedicated to making a positive contribution to the development of Education in the area.
